        Digital Attraction

Hi, I'm Vito Soriano, I welcome you to a virtual cruise of my artwork.

Along with the exotic art are my personal notes and statements to shed some light and insight on relevant events to enhance your experience.
Experience the roller coaster ride of 'blood, sweat and tears' in creating this website---and there's more ahead (more work? oh no!). Now it's time to play. The upcoming articles are loaded with great fun and info...so do come back often.

Before the Web

I've been so lucky to have worked in the Entertainment Industry doing what I love to do...Art.
For the longest time, I've always dreamed of working on those hot projects in Hollywood, Disneyland and Las Vegas---and this I did for many years---always looking for ways to do things differently.

Now I find myself doing it all over again in this new arena---The Internet.  Fast forward to Web 2.0 where ideas fly in the blogosphere.

So let your hair down,  we'll have fun learning what makes the Internet a great thing...for young artists and creative souls out there...and those who don't mind living a Bohemian lifestyle.

With all that noise, it's easy to get lost on the Web. I will try my best to help you find some quality content---so have fun as we try to figure things out as we go along.  I'll be here to help you find your destination. And remember, it's a JOURNEY.

I'd like to open these articles with the obvious. I only mention it to give you an idea of which direction my art is going at this stage of my career. It is a natural extension of my art, and a great way to experiment with a new medium which is constantly changing.

It's fun time in Pixieland my friends! These days, I really enjoy the digital side of creating artwork because I have so many ideas that are best communicated digitally.

I do both---digital and traditional---always reinventing as I go along. At the end of the day, the ultimate goal is to end up with something of value---or the new currency of this millenium better known as...

                        Intellectual Property

Intellectual Property is a product of the mind, and is therefore intangible. You create it and research it, then integrate it in your own unique, original way so you can honestly say you own it. And you have innate copyright over it and that's that. You can sell it, license it or promote with it.

The beauty of digital Intellectual Property such as ebooks and eZines, interviews, archives, software etc. is the incredible way you can duplicate them and make unlimited identical copies. Imagine a global viral marketing strategy.

The ability to digitally create ebooks, music CDs, DVDs. movies, VCDs and artworks has greatly changed our way of doing things. Alhough we will always have them available in their 'physical' forms ...like the manuscripts for those heavy books you hate to carry, the original oil paintings that you visit in the middle of the night in your study, and the original drafts for that great hit song...

Your connection allows you to download any of these digital packages. No shipping, no damaged freights and no bulky storage required. No huge overheads to inflate prices, and no waiting for Godot. It's no wonder there's so much to see and do online, not to mention the new way to find your next date. Along with digital products are services online. Now you can find information, book a romantic vacation, find other products, shop online, auctions, download movies, subscribe to TiVo and podcasts...where and when you want it. That's entertainment with an option to tag and share with your network.

We now turn to my angle on this new phenomenon that some people call  Web 2.0...

Art and Lifestyle

I  blog  for you to escape and enjoy a virtual tour of my art---a free cruise to exotic destinations where I unveil my paintings. In tandem with these special events are fun games and treasure hunts that lead you to my other mystery paintings and hidden treasures on the web!  Your lifestyle unfurls while you SpyGlass more islands and ports of call. It's all about great content ...when and where you want it. Like you, I want quality and extreme personalization. That's my game.

Watch my blog for more of these themes... like celebrity theme party ideas that would make your eyes Flickr!

These are the exotic themes that you can explore...

The SpyGlass Channels

Pop  Island is volatile with volcanic eruptions!  New islands are constantly being formed. If you dare,  you can watch them develop (from WILD special channels) to full blown island destinations. You may have to go through them to unveil my hidden paintings. As you do, you'll encounter other pop events that could make you a celebrity!

The SpyGlass channels are floating beach bars, cafes and resort clubs--- where you can join fun events, channels, treasure hunts and scavenger hunts. Solve colorful puzzles, clues and surprise landing pages like the Bridal Dreams channel,  my Flickr channel and Covergirls. These are examples of how I'm implementing Web 2.0. ideas. You see, I'm creating new islands for you to inhabit---so to speak. So help me make each one a special event!  I'll take care of the graphics : )

I wanted to maintain the ambiance so you can focus on the destination themes as an all encompassing experience.  It's here in the Studio Articles that I articulate more in depth art discussions of special topics and insight.

The blog entries will take you to other themed destinations for articles that overlap between SpyGlass channels and the Studio ... it's a trip to the beach bar and Bohemian Cafe to take some time off away from the Studio and spark some ideas... just like in  the real world.

Cheers!
