Vision:      My blog introduces my site by taking you to landing pages that I've designed as Special Events.
Thus each unveiling of my paintings is a special event that presents a conversation piece to blog about. Vibe...

Then party at the SpyGlass Expo venues. Take a virtual cruise to each exotic destination painting of tropical islands
and resorts. The experience is an immersive and rewarding adventure---your cruise could lead to secret  treasure ; )

Ideas for Flickr
and del.icio.us Tags

I'd like to focus on tags, social bookmarks, folksonomy and designing for Web 2.0 this time. There's so much to discuss regarding social bookmarks and tagging. There's a carnival atmosphere out there. It's a global party!

This is where I discuss my ideas for Flickr and del.icio.us.

See how I've started tagging Carnival Dancer  above?  I think some people want that option---to just go with an existing tag---due to info overload, confusion... too tired, busy (time management)---or just plain lazy? LOL

After deliberating about the issue of blogging without intruding on my website, I came up with fun landing pages for my blog---(a loosely scheduled siteblog page that's integrated within my website---something you can do only with SBI).

These destinations automatically double as archives---with plenty of room for more themes and niches (The Long Tail).

Subsequent TAG PAGES like this are going to update my Special Events Blog  and link to these landing pages. The wild categories of Pop Island are excellent places to implement Flickr and del.icio.us tags. This includes the special channels that are concurrent with my unveilings. I want to see how this section of my site explores Web 2.0 trends and social networks. Ken Evoy keeps adding these features to SBI, I wonder if  I can implement some of them here...hmmm?

If you've seen most of my site and experienced my site concept ... I hope to hear from you. Besides the art, I'm actively designing for optimum usability and visual information. It's a strain to consolidate all of these web concepts and still allow myself to reframe the metadata, description and title tags for each destination.

The point is to facilitate tagging by association and experience. To remember more and search other tagged bookmarks that could lead to some wild, delightful surprise

It's the game of folksonomy that some people (a niche) wanna play. ...like-minded, motivated people bookmarking the special channels and your islands of expertise...who tag and ping blogposts, play a game of quest and query...hold interviews...and special events.

I'm always designing for the human experience as you'll soon  find out...but Web 2.0 also is about designing for the machines. Aggregating content from the many-to-many social networks and peer to peer blogposts are realities that are shaping the web and the way we search, publish  and advertise today.

I feel that my site concept presents a good opportunity to try and implement (experiment) these new trends that are developing so rapidly on the web. Of course, it's great fun to use graphic design and information architecture.

The design uses the 80-20 rule. Starting with a session (20%) of unveilings in the art gallery. Then it goes deep with more destination paintings and themes and back-to-back events (80 % .in time release).  It's back to "less is more"---nobody wants info overload. Perhaps I can illustrate these concepts graphically while you search for treasure : )

Meantime, I'm going wide and wild with the channels and themes  to open more avenues for Web 2.0 , such as the Quest for hidden paintings and other treasure. Plus the Webstars (20% of the 80-20 rule). The Pareto principle  plays out with the Long Tail as the islands erupt like volcanoes.

It's the hot smoldering lava flowing like long tentacles that we need a new name for.  A brand new island emerges... and another...and another...on and on...could it be yours?

It all starts with a  Viral idea!

.

I  follow  the  Site Build It  or  SBI
proven strategy  for website building
and   monetization  that  deploys:

 Content  Traffic  PreSell  Monetize

...as sooo wisely implemented by SiteSell.com's Webstar Ken Evoy and all successful SBI publishers.

Many of my ideas were sparked by visiting the SBI forums --- which superdelivers powerful information.

                       HUGE.

Dr. Ken Evoy calls it BAM!...Brain and Motivation.  I've never seen so many gutsy, dedicated individuals who genuinely care to help each other by sharing the secrets to their success. Very impressive indeed.

         This is what makes the
          web a beautiful thing.

Most own 2 or 3 sites --- Wow!  that got me so excited!  And, these guys really do share their site building skills. They'd show you---walk you through slopes, humps and all.  Amazing!

Kudos to the great leadership of Ken, who just loves to get his feet wet with new projects and  expert counseling

It would be extreeemely hard to find another down to earth leader --- and a true professional --- who has a rare gift for sincerity and having fun!

Plan B : Be real and share your passion. Empower people.

But first, get a real host to nest your future. The web is a goldmine---so get the best tools along with your BAM!
Tags and Motifs (Themes for Painting and Content)

I talk about them in words metaphorically because I'm creating themed paintings, Quests and clues to find treasure in these islands. There's so much art and informative entertainment to share here. My ideas are open to critics and that's fine. Just remember that many of them are double innuendo of words and imagery : ).  if you sense some ambiguity---therein lies the art. Though I aim to crystalliize vital ideas...if and when they come!

Playing with graphics alone can take so much time. When designing and optimizing, I always look for something helpful and fun. My themes are broad and deep---some of the Quest and Treasure Hunts will be explored with tags and motifs (and icons) that you can enter in the Google Search box!  and I can go even deeper with...

  Your Feedback

Web 2.0 is all about sharing open content. So I urge you to use the special channels and to create special events. It's a myspace type of idea. Next thing you know, you've got a community with similar interests---and niches.

My treasure islands are waiting for you to turn them into your islands of expertise.
